June 1, 2017 - FDA has announced two unrelated nut recalls — Kroger’s Simple Truth Dry Roasted Macadamia Nuts and Ava’s Organic Cashews Roasted & Salted — because they may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, according to FOX News. Affected products were were sold in Kroger, Gerbes, Backers and Dillons stores in Ohio, Southeast Indiana, Kansas, Northern Kentucky, Missouri and Nebraska.
3rd Macadamia Nut Recall Issued Over Possible Salmonella Contamination
April 10, 2015 - For at least the third time this week, macadamia nut products are being recalled over potential contamination with salmonella bacteria. This time, Kanan Enterprises has been asked by its supplier to issue a recall for Peterson’s Macadamias 16 oz. stand-up pouches. These products can be identified by the SKU# 0 7487010365 9, and code dates of 4330 1, 4364 2, and 5013 1.
Macadamia nuts affected by this recall were sold between Nov. 26, 2014 and Mar. 27, 2015 at the Peterson Nut Store in Cleveland, OH and King Nut Factory outlet in Solon, OH. If you have any recalled products in your possession, you should discard them immediately or return them to the point of purchase for a refund.
